Evening Years

No one can ever break God’s covenant with the night and with the day;
Time will inevitably pass us by, no matter what we do or say.
We can reminisce and relish our youth, our heyday;
But let not we in our autumn years denigrate our lives to ones of dismay.

Thanks be to God for Salvation given to you and me;
For we who believe in Him, from the bondage of sin are set free.
Grace has been extended to us by our merciful God;
All it takes is faith to believe in Jesus Christ, our Lord.

His Word and His Light are all we need to follow;
For direction to live righteous lives and strength to cope with sorrow.
God will further enlighten us when we pray and study His Word;
He will transform book knowledge into wisdom for good works.

Our part is to be willing and courageous;
For God to equip and use us even in our evening years.
Valuable is the experience we have garnered in our youth;
We could very well be great witnesses to point others to the Truth!
