Sin is often poorly comprehended and understood,
We try and dismiss it but our efforts are of little good.
Sin weighs so heavily on the mind and heart,
It seeks to destroy, tearing everything apart!
The weight of sin causes us to be depressed,
Our hearts and minds cannot easily find rest.
The way out is to plead the lovingkindness of God,
There is abundant mercy to be found in the Lord!
Forgiveness is what the heart desires deep down,
Sin makes us morose and we wear only a frown.
God can lift up our weary souls when we cry to Him,
He can fully forgive and cleanse us from all our sins.
He will wash and cleanse us till our heart is truly clean,
He wants us to have a vibrant life stemming from within.
What comfort we can find in the mercy of our gracious God,
There is none like Him who has proven to be our very strong Rock.
