The heart is more prone to lose heart than is admitted,
The very soul is deeply challenged and deeply impacted.
The fever comes on and off and tiredness is the order of the day,
The heart and soul are deeply challenged to keep despair at bay.
“Men always ought to pray…” was a lesson Jesus sought to teach,
We nod our heads, but prayer always with faith is often beyond reach.
The heart naturally despairs and terrible doubts assail,
The only answer is to practise praying till prayer prevails.
Day after day when the illness persists, these words of Jesus come to mind,
The heart must earnestly pray and believe that the Lord is good and kind.
The Lord beckons us to refuse to give in to feelings of losing heart,
The Lord has heard prayers before and from us, He will never depart.
The lessons of seeking God in prayer more fervently have to be learned,
The Lord wants us to deepen our prayer life, this insight we must discern.
Each day must begin with hope that God truly hears and answers prayer,
May our hearts learn how to pray in faith and never to give in to despair!
