Doubts often assail each time we pray,
They cause deep sorrow and dismay.
So many bad thoughts rush to the mind,
They can make our spirit almost blind!
The soul must learn to call aloud to the Lord,
Pushing aside the doubts that question faith in God!
Faith must be active as we pour out our heart,
God will hear and answer! He is not far apart!
Our soul may be tainted with anguish and fear,
But we may yet find hope and much-needed cheer.
We must persist in calling upon the Lord,
He will answer! He is a great and merciful God!
The Lord has set apart for Himself the godly man,
He has chosen him to be part of His divine plan.
Thus the heart must find new hope in prayer;
Kneel at His throne! The Lord our King is there!
