Sometimes we lack zeal in seeking the Lord;
Iniquity and sin bind us with a very strong cord.
But desperate times will drive us to re-consider;
How we must seek God with genuine endeavour!
The deep needs of the soul will drive us relentlessly;
The dangers, the soul’s thirst remind us to seek God early.
Wisdom is found and the soul finds God again;
And deep within the soul there is now a new refrain.
The lovingkindness of God is found afresh and real;
And before a great and wonderful God the soul kneels.
There is a new desire to dwell under the shadow of His wings;
There is a new sense of hope, a new song dedicated to the King.
The seeking of the Lord is an important discipline to cultivate;
Desiring to draw close to the Lord, we must not hesitate!
The Lord will lovingly draw us close to Himself with mercy;
How our lips must offer songs of praise to Him most gratefully.
