In pain the soul seeks to comprehend life’s twists and turns
For life has become sad and heavy- with many burdens;
In food, in friends and even in prayer… the search goes on
But the soul remains morose, withdrawn and forlorn.
Faith stirs the spirit to keep seeking and to find
That special comfort of God sublime.
The soul recognises the tender hand of God
In faith and love, the soul is restored.
The spirit that has discovered God’s comfort true
Soon learns that others need Him too.
The desire is not just simply to speak and share
But to point people to God’s greater care.
The God of comfort is what some have found
And with that the flagging spirit rebounds.
What great joy we may have in our heart
When we know that our faith plays a part.
The trials of life will never ever cease
We must ever seek this God to please;
Then will we find God’s wonderful grace
And triumph in every battle we will ever face.
