The bones grow old and groans persist through the night,
The soul is deeply afflicted for sins hurt deep inside.
There is a sickness that will plague the heart and soul;
Till cleansing is sought and found, nothing is ever whole.
Vitality and strength ebb as long as sin is not confessed,
We grow weaker and are in danger of becoming depressed.
Our sin is ever before us and we are haunted day and night,
But there is hope in the Lord who can make all things right.
Our part is to humbly acknowledge our sins to the Lord,
He does not rejoice in condemnation; this is not our God!
He seeks to teach us that sin grieves and hurts our soul,
He desires to cleanse and make us completely whole.
God will find it in His heart to forgive us of all our sins,
He will clear us from all guilt and cleanse us from within.
He will take away the weariness of our body and mind,
The Lord will restore us simply because He is good and kind.
