Be Anxious For Nothing

A persistent cough, a fever that will not go away,
A visit at the hospital, what did the doctor say?
“Maddie has pneumonia… ” and anxiety fills the heart,
I would like to stay on, but instead I must depart.

The heart is deeply wrenched and deep sadness sets in,
I grieve, I weep, I must seek the Lord for my little darling.
I cry out to the Lord in prayer and strong supplication,
I will come to God’s throne of mercy in fear and trepidation.

I make my requests known to our great God of love,
My heart will keep seeking the Lord in heaven above.
Prayers of faith and of love will ascend to the Lord,
He will hear as our heavenly Father and our God.

The heart must pray till it has found God’s special peace,
The Lord will grant grace and mercy in answer to my pleas.
The heart may be wrenched but it must learn to trust God’s will,
The Lord’s presence is felt and He enables the heart to be still.
