How wonderful it is to know the Good Shepherd;
And to fully trust in Him when life is difficult.
How does the Shepherd communicate with His sheep?
How can He help them to know that He will truly keep?
In His own special way, the Shepherd brings needed comfort;
Beyond mere mortal words, He helps His sheep to feel assured.
The sheep hears the loving tones of the Good Shepherd as He speaks;
He knows that the Lord who watches the flock faithfully never sleeps.
The Good Shepherd knows each of His sheep by name;
He assures His sheep that their faith is truly not in vain.
He will look after them because of His loving commitment;
He will lovingly protect them and finally lead them to Heaven.
“I am the Good Shepherd,” the Lord Jesus says to all in sorrow;
He will be with us in rain or sunshine and in all our tomorrows.
How wonderful it is to know and to trust in the Good Shepherd;
Through faith in the Lord we will be able to find deep comfort.
